Spinning Classes in Spinning Yarn

Classes in Spinning Yarn

Classes in Spinning Yarn are in 4 week blocks, at various Community Houses in the Eastern Suburbs and occasionally at other venues such as Chesterfield Farm in Scoresby, Mont DeLancey Homestead in Wandin, and Gulf Station in Yarra Glen. Class size is limited to a maximum of 6 students for best individual instruction.

Each school Term, there are new classes in spinning yarn, new venues and new related topics to help you in your fibre experience. Students are encouraged to bring their own wheel to class and learn to use it. I provide one of my wheels – a different one each week-- to see which style of wheel best suits. The right wheel gives the student the best experience of spinning yarn.

Students will have as much fleece as they need for spinning yarn in class and more for practice at home. Students take home and keep what they make; class notes and contacts are supplied.

A Private lesson for spinning yarn is by appointment, 2 hours at a time, for which the student has my full and undivided attention. I bring all the wheels and equipment necessary. The student can then concentrate on spinning yarn. To make an appointment, send an email to Marion.
